Python Syslog-NG via Postgres Web Viewer (v0.4)
As an exercise in learning Python, I decided a good simple practical application would be a tool to monitor system logs of various systems at once logging to an SQL database. This has already been quite helpful as I debug my OpenLDAP migration and taking a closer look at Solaris.
Python is a deliciously simple language and I had no trouble learning very quickly to rapidly develop a simple database driven application. My first app was quite useful to me, and I intend to add more features. A few years ago a friend and myself built a similar application in PHP but it has been lost over time.
